  1. Address the role that skin integrity plays in the acquisition of microorganisms
  2. Discuss the importance of consistent, effective hand hygiene practices
  3. Describe factors that influence non-compliance with hand hygiene practices
  4. Discuss contact dermatitis
  5. Describe strategies to reduce hand irritation that result from frequent hand washing
  6. Discuss the importance of a comprehensive organization-wide hand hygiene program supported by the organization's leadership.

 

Learning Objectives- At the end of this presentation the participant will be able to:

  • Name two factors that contribute to dermatitis
  • Describe the role of skin integrity
  • Name two strategies to improve the condition of the hands
  • Name two methods to improve hand hygiene practices
