Description:
Surgical site infection (SSI) prevention is an important component of any infection prevention program. The Joint Commission has emphasized this by including it as a National Patient Safety Goal beginning in the year 2009. Infection Preventionist must be prepared to partner with surgical service to educate, measure and communicate effective strategies that will prevent SSIs in their patient populations.  The purpose of this webinar is to review the basic components of SSI prevention and provide guidance in creating an effective program that will meet the NPSG.07.05.01 requirements.
